- Optical
- the band of energy we can see with our eyes. It is intermediate in terms of energy and wavelength, with wavelengths somewhat shorter than infrared (approximately 400 – 750 nm) and energies somewhat higher.
- Observable Universe
- Name given to the region of space that is currently observable from Earth, since the light from anywhere within this region has had sufficient time to travel to Earth given the constraint of the age of the universe.
- Orbit
- the path an object takes when it is influenced by the gravity of another object.
- Orbital Period
- in a binary system, the time it takes for the two stars to complete one orbit around their mutual center of gravity.
- Output
- the result of a computer program that is displayed to a user, or transmitted to another computer program or a device, which in turn does something with the result.
